Can I, a foreigner, buy a car with a loan in Japan without permanent residency?

In Okinawa the public transportation is not like in the major cities of Japan, and having a car is a necessity much like it is in the United States. Therefore, I'm currently renting a car from Daidou Rent-a-Car in Naha, but it costs almost 40,000 yen a month, so I've been thinking about buying or leasing a car to reduce my payments.

Hello all,

My name is Karl, I am 40 years old, Single, and I live on the Shetland Isles, Scotland, UK

I love films, esp Asian films, Korean, Japanese, Chinese well anything really. Thrillers, Action, Martial Arts, Historical even Romance at times! Shocked

I like Asian food, but I have really only tried Chinese, a bit of Japanese and Thai.

I like to read, pretty much anything, well as long as it is well written, although I rarely read newspapers? Nor do I really watch much TV, although I am quite partial to LOST. My musical tastes are varied, Rock, Pop, Classical or even Soundtracks, oh and I have never sung Karaoke  :Smiley

I have never been married nor had children, I suppose I have either never found the right person, or had the time to devote to it, hopefully one day.

I really hope this Forum takes off, and I hope I can contribute something worthwhile. One day I hope to actually visit Okinawa, or even manage to live there, then I might be able to contribute better.

Thanks for reading, Karl
