Where's the best place to withdraw money from an overseas account in Japan?

When I first arrived in Japan in 2001, I had no idea how to get money out of my American bank account. I didn't have a special international card, but I assumed that I would be able to get money somewhere. This proved to be quite a mistakes as I spent several days being broke before I was able to solve my predicament.

Hi,

I did a quick search, on Youtube, and Google for Hmong, and was in tears watching some of the videos. I am a grown Man of 40, and in no way soft!

Infact I am so distraught, I have desided to write a letter to my Member of Parliment, with regard to the plight of the Hmong peoples left in Laos.

I would recommened to everyone, American, Japanese or even Martian, to do the same.

Thank you, for taking the time to read my info and watch the gruesome video's.  I wish there was more people like you, that could understand what the hmong people are going thru and taking a stand to get them the help they need. I hope someone listens and cares of whats going on, the secret war has been going on for 30yrs. It will keep going on until President Bush opens his eyes and realizes all the mistakes he has made, saying Hmong are Terrorists when in fact they kept there promise to America. They helped America so much in return people are being killed left and right. Kids of all ages being gang raped, murdered and worse!

How do I explain all that to my daughter who is 1/2 Hmong, she always wants to know more about the Hmong people, about their country, and so on. I am American, but I was raised Hmong, and I made a promise many years ago to my Hmong mom, that I would get the word out, let people know about the big secret the US doesn't want people to know about.

I met some Hmong people up in Stevens Point, WI. There was a large contingent of refugees living there as legal immigrants. A pastor I knew there was working with them and ministering to them. I never did ask what drove them from their home country. I guess I know now. The Hmong have had some bad press recently, as a Hmong man shot and killed some hunters here in the state a few years ago. I have never heard any negative words or attitudes toward them in general, but that kind of press story doesn't help, when there is no good press stories about them. My experience with them was an altogether positive one, and now that I know more of their history. I respect them that much more. They could have worn their oppression on their sleeve, to coin a phrase, but they struck me as a noble, hard-working, honest people. I guess it goes to show that everybody has problems, and there is usually somebody worse off than you are.
