Last year Paul and Mikes closed down and moved to a different location under a different name. It is now called "Rehab" and located near the old location on Kokusai street but on the other side of the road. For anyone who isn't familiar with Paul and Mikes, it was the local Naha international, aka "gaijin," bar.

The new location features a slightly more relaxed, darker atmosphere that almost has more of a "snack" feel than a bar. At the new bar they have Guinness on tap as well as a kitchen where you can get some western style dishes that aren't usually available in Japan including philly cheese steak and fish and chips (I think... there are a lot more, and more "western" menu items, but I can't remember right now). They have food specials between 7pm and 10pm (a drink and a dish for a 1000 yen) Tuesday through Sunday. They're closed on Mondays.

Finding Rehab shouldn't be too difficult, but the sign is not always the easiest to see because of its color and location. To get to Rehab coming from the Starbucks / Kencho-mae direction, walk down (past Starbucks) on the left hand side of the street. You'll pass a McDonald's and then the old Nova building before coming to a Family Mart. The bar is just past the Family Mart, and there is a sign sticking out from above an open door on your left that says Rehab. It's just above the door and not too big (not so small either), so don't look up or for any huge sign. Coming from Makishi statation just walk on the right side of the road until you see that Family Mart. It's pretty close to the Makishi end of the street. If a map is more your style, I've marked its location on this map. The bar's on the third floor and its "mascot" is a purple and white gelcap pill.

I hope this helps someone find a place to get a drink and relax sometime.
